Ian Roe
Head of Programmes (RCPI/LSBU)
Ian has been working in education for over 15 years. From being in front of the classroom teaching English, history and classical studies at a secondary school, to working behind the scenes with standard setting and correction for the State Exams Commission. He also authored a textbook for the Junior Certificate curriculum.
Prior to joining iheed in 2018, he worked for Chartered Accountants Ireland for five years, acting as a course coordinator before pivoting into a project manager role within the examinations department. He then became the programme lead for their first-year students, looking after 900 students across seven educational centres and seeing after the needs of students, lecturers and firms/stakeholders.
Ian moved to iheed to gain a greater insight into what e-learning could and should look like. He started as the Programme Manager for the MSc in Diabetes but as the number of courses increased and the Academic Affairs team has grown, he has since transitioned into the role of Head of Programmes with governance and oversight on all iheed programmes run in partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and London South Bank University.
He used to have an interest in photography and reading, but with a toddler and a baby at home he’s now just really into sleep.
