We are delighted to announce that iheed is a finalist in two categories to the PIEoneer Awards 2023.
Celebrating innovation and achievement in global education, the award ceremony will take place in September in London.
iheed has been nominated in the Digital Innovation of the year category. The very talented iheed product development team have created a suite of clinical “meet the patient” simulations that provide a learn-by-doing experience, in a way that enables learners (doctors and nurses from all over the world) to safely apply and self-assess their knowledge in a given clinical area. The simulations take learners through the clinical process from history taking and examination, through to ordering and evaluation of test results, formulating of diagnoses and finally deciding on a treatment and management plan for a simulated patient, receiving feedback on performance at each step. Learners are encouraged to play the simulations multiple times to explore how different decisions impact patient outcomes. Check out our approach to simulation development here.
iheed is also a finalist in the Public/private partnership of the year award. iheed, in conjunction with our three primary institutional partners (The University of Warwick, The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and London South Bank University) launched 5 new postgraduate healthcare qualifications in 2022 resulting in 1429 new enrolments. In partnership with our accrediting partners iheed grew from 6 to 11 postgraduate programmes in 2022. These programmes were both career enhancing (Healthcare Leadership) and clinical (Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Medicine for the Older Person, Mental Health Nursing).
The programmes were developed to grow the mutual internationalisation ambitions of iheed and its partners (The University of Warwick, The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and London South Bank University). Student enrolments more than doubled from 1317 to 2684 students and 1439 were directly attributable to the new programmes. Our students are full time clinicians across all continents from Myanmar to Eritrea, Trinidad and Tobago to New Zealand and everywhere in between. We see this nomination as a celebration of what we have achieved with wonderful public partnerships.
Keep your fingers crossed for iheed on Friday the 22nd of September.
