Dushyanthi Alagiyawanna

Dr. Dushyanthi Alagiyawanna is a specialist in Public Health from Sri Lanka. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka and currently attached to the Cardiff University, United Kingdom as a visiting research fellow. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2004, and obtained her MSc and MD in Community Medicine from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

Dr. Alagiyawanna has worked as a medical doctor for the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka and as an academic for over 17 years. She has a special research interest in communicable diseases and has publications in both communicable and non-communicable diseases both as presentations and full paper articles. She has won many research awards from both national and international forums.  

She is experienced as a teacher, supervisor and as an examiner in areas of public health and health research for medical undergraduate and graduate students.
