Dr. Garret O’Connell

Dr Garret O’Connell is a Dermatology Specialist Registrar currently based in University Hospital Waterford, Ireland. He is a tutor for the ICGP Cork training scheme and a former Clinical Lecturer with UCC School of Medicine. He is in active clinical practise, managing adult and paediatric dermatological presentations. He also performs dermatological surgery and provides a liaison service to University Hospital Waterford.

His research interests include photodermatology, pharmacoeconomics and public health, with eight publications in specialty dermatological journals. He is currently undertaking research in the areas of melanoma treatment and health promotion. In addition, he is due to complete his MSc in Pharmaceutical Medicine (TCD) in the coming academic year.

When not at work Garret enjoys trail-running and cycling.
