Dr Carla Toro


Carla Toro studied BSc (Hons) and PhD in Neuroscience at Universities of Nottingham and Manchester respectively. Carla then joined the Neuroscience and Psychiatry Unit, University of Manchester as Research Fellow investigating disease mechanisms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. Since joining the University of Warwick Sept 2018, Carla co-developed and launched a Digital Health BSc (accredited by the NHS) and was awarded a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and leads several research programmes including the Warwick Pilot Mental Health Interventions (part of the DWP/DHSC - funded Mental Health and Productivity Pilot) and the Digitising Clinical Research project funded by NIHR West Midlands CRN. Carla has supervised 5 PhD projects to completion and currently supervises five PhD projects funded by EPSRC, ORCHA Health, CWPT and Hotung Mills Foundation. She is also Deputy Pro Dean Research at Warwick Medical School and Deputy Director for the Warwick Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing Research.
