Patricia Ndugga


Patricia Ndugga is a Lecturer and researcher with over 15 years of experience in Demography and Public Health. Based at the Department of Population Studies in the School of Statistics and Planning at Makerere University, Uganda, her research focuses on maternal and child health, family planning, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, substance use, mental health, and quantitative and qualitative research methods.

She earned her PhD in Demography and Social Statistics from the University of Southampton, UK, supported by a Commonwealth Scholarship, and holds an MSc in Public Health from Lund University, Sweden. Her PhD research examined Ugandan women's fertility desires, childbearing decisions, and contraceptive use during the extended postpartum period. Currently, Patricia is a post-doctoral fellow investigating parent-child communication regarding sexual and reproductive health in a high HIV prevalence context in Uganda. Patricia has co-led multiple research projects, published in peer-reviewed international journals, and mentors students at both Masters and PhD levels. She currently teaches the Clinical Research Analysis Module for the Master of Clinical Research course as well as student supervision.
