Kirsty McCormack


Dr Kirsty McCormack is a Lecturer in Health Services Research and Research Manager for the Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT) at the University of Aberdeen. CHaRT is a fully registered UK Clinical Research Collaboration Clinical Trials Unit with an internationally recognised expertise in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of multicentre trials. She holds a PhD in Health Services Research and a Master’s Degree in Health Services and Public Health Research from the University of Aberdeen. Kirsty has been involved in clinical research for over 26 years now with experience in a range of health services research methods including pragmatic RCTs, systematic reviews, and other evaluative designs. Kirsty has been a grantholder for three landmark multicentre RCTs and contributed to the development of proposals with clinical and scientific partners to secure funding for over 45 trials. Kirsty has been teaching at Postgraduate level since 2000 with a particular focus on the delivery of online courses. She is currently the Course Coordinator for the postgraduate course Designing Real-World Trials at the University of Aberdeen - a fully online course - and was previously an online Tutor for the Masters in Public Health and Masters in Clinical Research Programmes for Laureate Online Education at the University of Liverpool. Kirsty has also been postgraduate supervisor for students at the University of Aberdeen, University of Edinburgh and University of Liverpool with responsibility for providing the full advisory services to students working on their final dissertations, leading to a Master’s degree.
