Dr Katie Reed PhD
Katie is a UK trained nurse and midwife who practised in England and Canada. After completing an MSc in Health Education, she spent nine years working on malaria control, mainly in Sub Saharan Africa. In 1999 she returned to the UK and took up a Research post at The University of Manchester studying for a PhD and working as a nurse in primary care. Since 2005 she has developed, taught, and managed online teaching and learning for the University of Manchester, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, London School of Hygiene and iheed. She passionately believes in the power of education to transform lives and health care. Katie has worked as a developer and tutor for iheed since 2016 on a number of courses.
